FCA Regulation

Our commitment to operate in accordance with the principles of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Ellis Bates Financial Solutions Limited and Ellis Bates Wealth Management Limited are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and therefore have to support the FCA Handbook's principle that all regulated firms 'must pay due regard to the interests of its customers and treat them fairly'.

The FCA's 'Treating Customers Fairly' initiative is all about working towards fair outcomes for consumers and is an integral part of our business culture. FCA compliance is something which we take extremely seriously and work to ensure is upheld throughout our business.

There are six consumer outcomes that firms should strive to achieve to ensure fair treatment of customers. These remain core to what the FCA expects and as a regulated firm of independent financial planners, we take these outcomes very seriously.

The six consumer outcomes for FCA compliance are:

Outcome 1: Consumers can be confident that they are dealing with firms where the fair treatment of customers is central to the corporate culture.

Outcome 2: Products and services marketed and sold in the retail market are designed to meet the needs of identified consumer groups and are targeted accordingly.

Outcome 3: Consumers are provided with clear information and are kept appropriately informed before, during and after the point of sale.

Outcome 4: Where consumers receive advice, the advice is suitable and takes account of their circumstances.

Outcome 5: Consumers are provided with products that perform as firms have led them to expect, and the associated service is both of an acceptable standard and as they have been led to expect.

Outcome 6: Consumers do not face unreasonable post-sale barriers imposed by firms to change product, switch provider, submit a claim or make a complaint.

Our commitment to you.

Our aim is resolute: To deliver all of the outcomes, all of the time.

If for any reason though you feel that we have let you down or failed to meet our commitments, please speak with your Financial Planner in the first instance. They will be happy discuss your concerns and will aim to resolve these swiftly.
